Privacy policy

Last updated 15 October 2026. In short: your birth details stay on your device; analytics runs only if you agree; Google's ads use cookies, as described below.

What stays on your device

All astronomy and astrology runs in your browser. Your birth date, time and place, where you live now, your quick-check answers, scorecard and blind diary are stored only on your device (in the browser's IndexedDB), and only if you choose "remember" or start a diary. They are never sent to Jyotishya, Google, advertisers or anyone else, and they never appear in the page address or title, which travel with ad requests.

Small preferences (theme, chart options, your analytics choice) are kept in the browser's local storage on your device.

To delete it: use "Forget everything on this device" at the bottom of the app, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the details every browser request carries (IP address, browser type, page requested) to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Jyotishya adds nothing personal to those requests.

Analytics

The app asks before using Google Analytics. If you agree, it counts page views and whether you opened the installed app, using Google Analytics cookies (named _ga). It never receives your birth details, places, answers or diary. You can change your choice at any time at the bottom of the app ("Analytics: on (page views only). Turn off"); turning it off also removes those cookies. The information pages like this one don't load Google Analytics.

Advertising

Jyotishya shows ads from Google AdSense. Google's script runs on the page under Google's policies.

Your birth details are never passed to Google or to advertisers: they stay on your device, as above.

Children

Jyotishya isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them. It collects no personal information from anyone on its own servers.

Contact form

The contact form is a Google Form, so what you type in it goes to Google and is handled under Google's privacy policy. It doesn't ask for birth details, and you don't need to give any.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: use the contact form.
